Archer Leadership Team Adds French Caldwell as Chief Strategy Officer

Archer®, a leading provider of integrated risk management (IRM) solutions, today announced that Dr. French Caldwell, DLP, widely known for his contributions to the GRC industry, has joined the company as chief strategy officer. As the newest member of Archer leadership, Caldwell will work with the team on overall strategic direction and coordinate the company’s product development, go-to-market, and corporate development strategies.

Prior to Archer, Caldwell founded and served as chief research officer of FCInsight and as chief financial officer for The Analyst Syndicate, a platform for independent analysts. Caldwell was chief evangelist and global head of marketing for MetricStream, where he led strategic initiatives including significant effort around product modernization. He served as vice president and fellow at Gartner, Inc. where he established and led research and advisory programs on knowledge management, digital society, government, public policy, cybersecurity, risk management and compliance, legal information technology, and disruptive trends and technologies.
As director of knowledge services in Arthur Andersen’s Office of Government Services, Caldwell worked with strategic clients, including the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, Internal Revenue Service, and Department of Defense. He completed a career as a nuclear submarine officer, and he directed special congressional projects for the U.S. Secretary of the Navy and the Secretary of Defense. Upon retiring from the U.S. Navy, Caldwell served as the international liaison and special projects officer for the congressional Commission on Roles and Missions of the Armed Services.
Caldwell earned his Bachelor of Science degree in oceanography at the U.S. Naval Academy, Master of Arts in international studies at Old Dominion University, and Doctor of Law and Policy at Northeastern University. He earned his command and staff degree at the U.S. Naval War College. Caldwell has been a Federal Executive Fellow at the Brookings Institution, an adjunct Fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, and an adjunct professor and board member of the Institute for Innovation and Knowledge Management in the graduate engineering management program at George Washington University.
